Want to understand the overview of ASEAN region market?
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is now New Zealand’s fourth largest trading partner and the region’s importance as market is growing. New Zealand’s exports to ASEAN were valued at NZ$7.7bn in 2020 despite the COVID-19 disruptions. Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam remained strong markets throughout 2020, while Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand all offer opportunities for future growth. The food and agriculture sector remains our leading export product category, while services such as logistics and other digital industries are fast growing in the area.
This 90-minute Zoom meetup “Let’s Talk ASEAN” involves a panel of 3 speakers discussing an overview of the economies of the ASEAN region and cultural insights into these markets. A key businessperson will share their experiences around conducting business with and in ASEAN for entrepreneurs, founders, and business managers looking to enter the market.
The meetup will be led by Siah Hwee Ang, Professor of International Business and Strategy, Chair in Business in Asia and Director of SEA CAPE at Victoria University of Wellington.
This digital meetup will cover:
- How do you find the right audience?
