The room was filled with excitement and celebration at the Napier Conference Centre last night, as the winners of the 2018 ExportNZ ASB Hawke's Bay Export Awards were announced. Congratulations to Cedenco Foods for winning the ASB Exporter of the Year Award. It was fantastic to see our local exporting community come together to share their success over the past year and we thoroughly enjoyed giving all finalists the recognition they deserve.

The results for each category are:

ContainerCo Best Emerging Business

The ContainerCo Best Emerging Business Award recognises success by net return to the New Zealand economy for businesses with a total annual revenue under NZD $5 million and a history up to a maximum of 5 years of operating internationally with growth.

T&G Global Best Medium/Large Business

T&G Global Best Medium/Large Business Award recognises success by net return to the New Zealand economy for businesses with a total annual revenue of over NZD$5 million.

  • Cedenco Foods (Winner)

Tomoana Food Hub Excellence in Innovation

The Tomoana Food Hub Excellence in Innovation Award recognises success in developing and commercialising innovation in international markets; incorporating intellectual property, strategy, processes and monitoring.

  • Rock-it Boards (Winner)

T&G Global Unsung Hero Award

The Unsung Hero Award provides you as an exporter the opportunity to recognise an individual within your own business who makes a huge contribution to your export success. These nominees are often the unsung heroes of your business and may sit at any level within your organisation.

The  winners are:

- Kellie Millar, Sales Co-Ordinator, Future Products Group
- Steve Young, Business Development Manager, Napier Port
- Mairead Hart, Finance Manager, Pultron Composites

ASB 

ASB Exporter of the Year Award:  Cedenco Foods

The winner of the ASB Exporter of the Year award is one of the winners from the previous three categories who has demonstrated sustained and outstanding performance and results in terms of:

  • Earnings, growth and profit
  • Leadership and direction
  • Excellence in marketing
  • Strategy and business planning
  • Commitment to quality management
  • Governance

The winner of this year's Judges' Choice award is: First Fresh

We'd like to say a massive congratulations to all of our winners, and a huge thanks to everyone who came to support on the night.

Under a new arrangement, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise is a strategic partner for the ExportNZ ASB Hawke’s Bay Export Awards. Category winners for Best Emerging Business, Best Medium/Large Business and Excellence in Innovation are automatic entrants in the New Zealand International Business Awards.
