How to turbo charge the export sector

How to turbo charge the export sector

What NZ CEO's Think!

During the last two weeks of August 2010, ExportNZ held CEO forums in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tauranga and Wellington to engage with exporters and discuss: what can firms do, what can ExportNZ do and what can the Government do to turbo-charge export growth?

Strong themes emerged from the discussion. These have been collated in a report which will be used at the Go Global export forum being held in Auckland in October and to further ExportNZ’s work. View the report.

The meetings were attended by CEOs of exporting firms, Sir Ken Stevens Chairman of ExportNZ, Phil O’Reilly CEO of BusinessNZ and Catherine Beard Executive Director of ExportNZ. Each meeting started with an overview of the New Zealand economy, government policy and the export landscape by Phil O’Reilly and Catherine Beard, plus a presentation by Sir Ken Stevens, drawing on his decades of experience with Glidepath. You can view this presentation here.

Craig Armstrong from NZTE and Tom West from the Ministry of Economic Development were also in attendance to present the findings of a report on New Zealand management practices “Management Matters”.
